I have Tahoe 2004 recently I have been smelling exhaust fumes inside the cabin, I took it for exhaust leakage and the mechanic said he could not find any leakage or damage to the entire exhaust system, so any help of why I still smell the fumes.

I get smelling gas from time to time coming from my Tahoe. I took it to a former Ford mechanic and he dropped the tank and the ring that holds the fuel pump was deteriorated and once it was replaced, fuel mileage improved and no more gas fume smell.
