Noise from under vehicle

Vehicle will not engage into park or reverse and
have been hearing lots of noise coming from under
vehicle. Sounds like a turbo spooling up and
clacking, kind of like a grinding noise just need to
know what it may be

How many miles? How do u drive it? Is the shifter loose by chance?
Where the shifter goes into the column,You have the boot.There are 1 or 2 bolts I can't remember for sure, that holds the shifter on.Maybe they have come loose,That is just a guess
Need to have a friend.....and u get underneath and look at the linkage....while the second person tries shifting in the cabin. Block the wheels....for no movement ...be safe
