Factory alarm

My 2001 tahoe's alarm will only arm after a
hard storm and then it only works for about
3 days and won't arm again until another
storm.

Sounds like moisture is completing an electrical connection. Somewhere there is corrosion or a loose connection that will need to be found and fixed.
