Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I've checked and replaced the pedal switch, fuses, relay, and made sure my

One thing that I could think of is the Bulb housing could be bad or has corrosion inside that it is not allowing the bulb to make a complete connection. This part might have to be replaced. The other item you said you replaced is the Brake light Switch. Is the contact plug inserted correctly> and make sure that when you depress the brake pedal that it is hitting the brake switch toddle on the switch.

Yes, need to know if there is 12V coming out from the brake light switch. But usually the problem is in the back, either at the wire connector or at the bulb socket. A test light is handy for checking to see where the power stops. Check ground wires in the back also.

I don't have 12v coming in to the pedal switch, as you probably know there is 6 wires going in to the brake pedal switch and none have 12v.

I have the same problem, all the brake lights are inop! I installed new bulbs & the sockets are clean. I checked the fuse & it's good with 12 volts on both sides of the installed fuse. I replaced the brake lamp switch. With a Power Probe III, I put 12 volts to the brake light wire from the newly installed switch, and the brake lights worked! No problem in that wire circuit! Using the Power Probe III, I then put 12 volts thru the power supply wire in the installed switch, then I actuated the brake pedal, and the brake lights worked. So, the problem with my 2008 Chrysler 300 LX, is now power to the switch! I read there's suppose to be a "brake lamp inhibitor relay in the rear power box. Well, there isn't one! In fact there is a relay base there, but no wires installed at that relay base location! There never was. So my next step is to trace the brake light switch power input wire to wherever it goes, and find out why there's no 12 volts to that power input wire. I'll let you all know what I discover.
