How far can I drive on 17 mpg

Your car only has 18 gallon tank,at 17mpg you would only do 306 miles, and would vary depending on terrain and driving condition,s.
Typically ... and I believe this to be true on domestics and foreign cars legally brought into ConUS..... all motor vehicles are federally mandated to go 300 miles on one tank of fuel. This supposes that all systems are in basic good condition and working correctly. The snag is the driver, as he/she can create conditions that exceed design criteria. Fat right foot is another consideration too. And roof racks damage CAFE ratings in a big way.
17 MPG is posted as average miles, combined idle, city driving and highway.... If you were on a road trip based on pure highway, minimum idle time you could potentially travel upwards of 500 miles per tankful.
The saddest part about this question is that our education system has gotten so low that Gail felt a need to ask this question rather than do the REALLY basic math that T_S_T did.
