Dashboard lights up and battery lights pops up, car
shut down NO movement. Bought new battery and
light still on for battery

Sounds like the charging system is not working. Should have the alternator tested. You can stop at an auto parts store to have the charging system checked to see if it is working.

If the car started with the new battery and the light is still on it is telling you that the car is discharging the battery and then the new battery will no longer work very soon. If that is the case, the alternator would be suspect. If the car did not start, then there is another problem and you should first check the connections to the new battery and have the battery tested to insure it is providing the needed power.
