The Toyota dealer says the struts - front: struts, mounts, insulations and boots are weak and corroded. Cost is $1,246 to replace. Is this reasonable for a 2008 Prius with 104,000 miles

An independent shop should be able to beat the dealer price by a considerable amount.

Maybe you already replaced the struts, but, for the benefit of those reading this thread... listen, if you want to preserve the same ride comfort as the original car, do yourself a favor and get the original struts directly from Toyota..... The KYB replacement struts result in a really harsh and jolting ride.

I just finished taking off and replacing struts from 1 Prius to another a couple of hours and a couple of tools is all you need 1246 is highway robbery. On a side note San Antonio Texas has some treacherously scandalous Toyota dealers.
