Re: BMW 2008 twin turbos

Asked by Tatter Sep 26, 2017 at 10:22 PM about the 2008 BMW 3 Series 335i Coupe RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So as the miles move along, I'm concerned that the cat's will load-up, and create back pressure that over-heats the turbo-bearings.  WHAT is in place to monitor the back pressure (if anything), and if nothing, HOW can one best rertro-fit a pressure sensor, perhaps to be tapped in, say parallel, or with an O2 sensor port?

1 Answer

I have never heard of back pressure sensors on turbocharged gasoline powered cars. If parts for gasoline cars are not available look diesel sensors and gauges.
