2009 Grand Caravan issue after heavy rain

Asked by MrsTC0416 Jul 01, 2014 at 01:18 AM about the 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan SE FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Heavy rain from bad tornado-like storm tonight and I had a hard time to start. It finally
starts and I was able to drive it but all the dash lights were on while driving, ( ! ) flashing,
parking display were all lit up and last # was "8"...get it home and now it won't start at all.
All lights turn on, security alarm turned on and key fob would not silence it, nor actual
key. Had to wait it out, but I could see that red security light was on inside.  What is
going on?

Ok, so July was spent diagnosing and repairing... it was hit by lightning. All the electrical components were fried to a crisp and it took 3 1/2 weeks to replace everything. Thankful for the insurance that paid $7,200 total to get my van back in shape. My deductible was only $250 so I think I just got my insurance monies worth (and then some) on this one. It's running pretty good now... but that was crazy!
