The OBD system is really geared towards emissions, and not very good as a diagnostic tool for things like the transmission. You might have a bad TC lockup solenoid, that isn't releasing as quick as it should when you stop abruptly. But that's just a wild guess based on too little info. A bad intake air control valve or circuit can cause an engine to stumble and die when you let off the accelerator, but that doesn't quite sound like your symptoms. Slamming to a stop may even shift the battery around or cause a frayed cable to lose connection temporarily. You'll have to do a little more poking around. Some code scanners can scan for codes while the engine is running for live data, and can give you more insight than waiting for a trouble code to be set.
