fan not switching to defrost

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I select the defrost button the air does not blow out the ports under the
front window. Heat Works. Fan works. all other functions work. Air will blow out
the front panel ports when switched to defrost or front panel and floor when
switched to defrost and floor option but not the actual defrost ports.

If its an older car it may be the vacuum switch or modulator. If it's 90's and up, it can be the switch or the blend air door motor.
