I realize that this question has been probably asked 100 times, but what is the percentage number below Instant Market Value should someone offer a dealership for a vehicle and would that change depending on how long the vehicle has been on CarGurus?

It doesn't matter how long a vehicle has been on CarGurus. Instant market value is a average price that the vehicle has been selling for. As a buyer, you want to spend less than the average. Rough guess on the percentage would be to offer 80-90% of the asking price. The dealer should counter offer. A private seller might be offended and not respond.
