Ethanol free,is best, but you pay more at the pump for it,but it will run better in the car.

I just used regular unleaded in my '12 CTS Coupe. Ran fine for me.

When I had a 2006 CTS w/ 3.6L, I ran Regular 87 Unleaded Fuel with an occasional tank of 91 Supreme or bottle of high octane additive (every 8- 12 tanks). Never experienced a problem. Currently, I have a 2011 CTS Sedan w/ 3.6L and I observe the same fueling guidelines. In our 2012 CTS-V Coupe, we run 91 exclusively. Hope that this helps.
