Can I put a 1988 325i motor into a 1992 325i?

Sure. The blocks are the same. You may need to double check the electronic and vacuum connections though.

Yes, but why would you want to? Going backward in technology and horsepower. Mount a 1994+ M50TU VANOS engine or better.

Thank you so much for the quick answers!! Oh, and the reason we want to, is because we already had the '88 motor, and then someone gave us the '92 without a motor, so... my question is, why not? lol Thanks again guys!!
