Almost all BMW's at 200k and over are gonna be going out soon. E46's (1999-2006) tend to last a little over 200k. The transmission will be most likely be going out first though.
Most cars are going to have problems when they have gone 200,000 miles. BMW's are expensive to repair and maintain but the engines have a reputation for lasting a long time.
