Transmission has no reverse after warm up.

1990 bmw 525i. After warm up it does not take reverse and shifts very hard out of each gear. it also does not go into gear while running without high rpm applied by gas pedal. This is one for the pros.

Is this 5 spd or AT. Cause it sounds like the TC

Well I think its your torque converter. Or either worn out clutchs. You could try pulling the pan off the trans and look and see if you got metal fragments in your tranny fluid.....

Have you been power braking the car or reving it up and dumping the tranny... if so this could be the reason why... check the trans cooler and all lines. The trans cooler is usually in front of you radiator... its small... pull the lines off make sure there not clogged. Overheated automati transmission is the num one failure..... hope this helps

See if your your fluid is kinda red pink. It should not be a dark color and smell burn
