Surge and stall

Check your oil and antifreeze, for both color and level, too high or too low. You may have a leaky head gasket.
I just spent 5700 getting head bolts and gaskets replaced, and water pump seal..ect..the stalling problem started right after I got my car back from the shop

Also one of my valve covers. .the back one has a pin hole leak. ..since I got it back from the shop. .and I keep finding things that weren't plugged in, or put back in place. .or broken
Any vacuum leak will cause these symptoms. Keep looking for unplugged stuff and fix that valve cover. It's tied to the EGR readings, plus that huge airbox on top of the engine has to be airtight and properly mounted.
