Make sure the cooling fans turn on when the AC is on. It may be time for a cooling system service.

That's correct. First jumper a wire over to the fan motor(s) to see if it runs. Then check the fuse and relay that powers the fan motor.
What can cause your car to cut off when you put it in gear, put the gear in park, & then crank it up, and the car cranks up afterwards?
