I have a 2011 dodge charger se, I have replaced the thermostat and cap. my car can sit still and run for an hour and never run hot, I can drive 5 miles and the temparture will start to rise but never run hot.

Would do a pressure test on the system and if that checks out try bleeding out the air if you have not tried already. Getting the front end of the car up on ramps will help if you do a manual style air bleed on the system.

Bleed air from system like this remove cap from overflow tank fill to full mark leave cap off and start once vehicle starts to reach operating temp thermostat will start to open and antifreeze level in tank will drop add more antifreeze to tank to full mark then put cap back on.
