The key won't turn, the door lock and trunk lock will not work

I have this problem. I have a flat battery but cannot open the car to release the bonnet. How can I change the battery if I cannot get to it?

Check out this link to an article which I wrote in Fixya. No pics, sorry, but huge amount of info. Written in layman-speak sp it's easy to understand.
