Front driveshaft

What benefit is removing the front drive shaft? The transfer case is still mounted to the back of the transmission and power is still going to it so that the rear drive shaft can propel the truck.
Thankyou my ex husband swears up and down i have to have a. Transfer case but i can not really afford it right now so i was asking you can still drive it with just the back driveshaft .it is all wheel drive and it has 4x4 in it also .so i wont hurt the truck driving it with out front drive shaft .in it .i just need to get bacj and forth to.work .what all do i need to do .i have removed the drive shaft now is there anything else i need to do to be driving it .do i need to remove the broken chain in the transfer case or anything else .please help i just want the cheapest way out at this moment and have my insanity .thankyou
