Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Have no problem with winter. But
when summer comes, my car wont
start after being parked for about
twenty minutes. Once it starts it idles
ruffly for about a minute than it
stabilizes. I drive about 40 minutes to
the food store. Go in, fill the cart. Go
to my car then that happens. Not
every time but always in the 80℉ and
up summer. Gas pump replaced last
month. Engine recently restored.

When this happens were you running the A/C? If so try not running the A/C and see if it still does it. If you have a fuel pressure tester I would hook up to the fuel rail and see if your fuel pressure drops after you shut it off. If it does you might have a leaky injector or bad check valve in fuel system. The pressure should be at about 60 when you turn the key to start then drop down to 50 or so. What might be happening is the heat from engine is a leaky injector is letting the pressure leak into that cylinder and flooding it out until its running for a few seconds.

A/C on off makes no difference. Fuel pump was replaced a couple months ago so how can i check the injectors???

I had a similar problem but it had nothing to do with fuel, mine wouldn’t start when warm and I changed the thermostat sensor right on the front of the motor, and it ran fine for about 6 months, now the problem is coming back, I just think they are a poorly designed car and I’m ready to move on, I hope I was helpful bro
