Car electronics being weird

Asked by Chaseskywalker Aug 24, 2017 at 11:18 PM about the 1999 Chrysler Sebring LXi Coupe FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Car lights were being slightly iffy, dimming a bit, but when I turned on the A/C
(that''s all I did), the car downshifted a gear, all the dash lights started
flickering, the radio turned off, and the car stalled after a minute. I got it
pulled home, and every time I turned it on, any change in the electronics
made it go haywire, so I tried disconnecting the battery, and everything
worked like normal. When I reconnected  the battery, everything still worked
fine, which is what's getting me.

Check the battery harness and terminals, might have a bad or weak connection, look for frayed cables. Also check for bad or missing grounds. Your problems sounds very much like a bad electrical connection.

Keep in mind it may not be the battery itself, but the battery cables and terminals, inspect those as well for a good connection, especially if the cables are stretched.

I checked the battery and it's fine. Before I do anything else, is there anything else that could be causing this issue?
