Trunk light on

The catch to the trunk broke, and we have no
money to go get the trunk fixed any time soon. Is
there a way we can turn the trunk light off so that
we won't drain the battery?

My trunk latch has a groove that connects and latches when it closes. I took a thin metal bar like a screwdriver and slid it into that groove as if it were connecting. It pushed it inward, clicked and turned off the light. My trunk got water in it so I’m drying it out and needed to know this too. Hopefully I can just unlock tomorrow and it will pop back out. Crossing fingers lol
