Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So I own an 02 jetta (1.8t) and I started it,
drove it to Walmart. Came out and tried to
start it again, it started but then died. I tried
it again and it did the same thing. I came
back later and tried one more time and it
kept wanting to die but It stayed running
long enough to get it home. Please help??

FIRST see if you have a spark going to each plug. If you have a cheap little lite that you put in series with the wire and plug it will tell you if a spark. I no spark, then change the plugs. If still no spark at a cylinder/s then check along plug to coil. You most liklely have a bad coil. If ignition ok, then check all you vacume lines for leaks. Then you have to see if your fuel injectors are firing. Good to have an OBD11 at this point. Then you have to check if you are getting proper fuel/air ratio.........All trouble shooting, but always start with getting a spark........Fixasalot4u
