On a cold start my car fires then dies. After turning the ignition off then fireing it back uo three times it'll fire on the forth try and run. is it a sensor or?

There maybe a code stored in memory even if check engine light is not on. Have code scanned but also check air filter and clean throttle body replace fuel filter if have not done so in a while add fuel injector cleaner to gas tank and use the middle grade or high test gas to help clean out the gum and carbon build up.
