I have a 1987 bmw325i. I installed a new battery.lights come on Windows go down car won't crank over. When I hookup a jump to the brand new battery it starts but if you still it or shut it off then you need to jump it Everytime. I was thinking an alternator issue?

You may need charge the new battery for one day before use it. You may use your car's console to check the voltage of the new battery.
