I would check spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor, then I would check the battery and alternator. our trucks are very sensitives to bad batteries and bad spark plugs.

Sounds like transmission problems, it definitely is if it stalls when stopping.

Good chances its the plug wires. While the car is runnning get a bottle of water and sprayer across the wires and look for arching.
