Since you have a check engine light, pull the code(s) and see what problem(s) they are indicating.

This happened to me check coil packs and change spark plugs .... Fix under $200 .

Also check coolant reservoir for leaks over the number 3 or 5 coil packs .

My engine light came on 2009 liberty was missing badly ran codes replaced plugs and coil packs and o2 ran a little better light back on! replaced cam and crank sensors missing stopped runs great Now! light came back on/! had work done on both catalytic converter drove 30 miles Lights back on !Has everyone stumped! I have a 2009 Jeep Liberty (called a Cherokee in south Africa) 2.8 CRD. and also had the engine check light come on. It eventually turned out that the battery was busy dying and the computer registered the insufficient battery power, hence the engine check light was activated. I was really not aware that a faulty battery will be picked up by the computer.

I’m having the same issue at 53,000 miles. Any updates here? I need some help!
