Why does my engine fan stay on in my 2012 Chevy camaro

Some times while driving, there may not have been enough time or airflow to cool the radiator coolant sufficiently. Therefore the fans continues to blow in an attempt to cool it in case you decide to drive again soon.

My 2012 camaro fan stays on high as soon as i start it , the stays on for a few minutes when the car is off.
