Here is a site that lists some of the common issues with that car. Generally, the Ford Focus is a pretty good vehicle. https://www.carcomplaints.com/Ford/Focus/2004/

It will be a good vehicle if it is in good condition, has been driven with respect and has properly been serviced and maintained. Any older high mileage vehicle can have it's problems.
