There's no sound coming from the radio on my 2013 Ford Taurus. Any suggestions on what it might be and how to fix it?

Hello! I was able to fix this issue. After: 1) Making sure my SYNC system was updated 2) Turning the car off and on multiple times (didn't fix it) 3) Ford told me I would need a new ACM module (but I didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars) AND THE FIX: 4) While sitting inside of the car, I used my key fob to lock the doors all the way until i heard the 'beep'. Then, I unlocked the car with the fob and then started the car normally (push to start in my case) and BOOM. The issue was fixed and I had sound. Another remedy I heard someone else use was that they used the remote start for their Taurus, Explorer, F150, and after they got in and started the car as per norm, the Sound came on. I hope this helps!!

I did all the things mentioned above and none worked. Then I put in a CD and it played perfectly. At the end of the song, I removed the CD and the radio played perfectly. BUT, I could not change stations using the touch- screen, nor could I switch from AM to FM using the screen. I could switch stations using the manual tuner.

Same issues here. No sound for cd, usb or phone. I tried moving to fm or am and it won’t move. I can switch between cd and usb but no sound. This has come and gone and back again. It’s hit or miss every day. At one point it was real crackly... now no sound. This is going to Ford under warranty

‘04, ses, dohc Stereo died few months back. Cooter tried a replace stereo from like n ‘01. No dice. Checked fuse fuse fine. Amp in trunk left side under liner. Tried salvaged amp. No dice. Found power loss in red w orange wire. Cooter chased the wire fer where break. Found missing connection ware between driver door wires near bottom of jam and fuse box in engine comp. Lots of cursing and twisting to run new wire from fuse to driver door jam-blesséd sound from radio and cd player works. Costs are part of cars. Sticker is part of the part of the world u live in. Used car says my name on title after i fix it. New car say banks name.

My answer? A BOSE bluetooth speaker, and I stream stations from my phone via iheart radio or Audaacy....even Pandora is better than silence. My radio goes off for 2 or more weeks and then suddenly comes back on, sometimes for weeks, sometimes for an hour or so. I won't put hundreds into the radio of an almost 9-year-old (2013) car. Navigation and Climate work fine, just no sound. I cannot connect my phone b/c of the sound issue, but the phone does work (hands free) through the bluetooth speaker. WE also have a 2011 Taurus. No radio or sound problems. Personally, I like buttons instead of touch screens.
