#2 repeatedly burns up

I have replaced the #2 coil twice on a year. Any
ideas why? This has to be a symptom of something
else

Mine is always #1. I noticed they do not sit firmly against the spark plug. I'll stretch the spring to the end of the boot and add diaelectric grease. Seems to really help. I'm assuming it's a manufacturing flaw. This is a really old engine format with updated parts.
