Headlights

I just tried to install these on my 2012 vw beetle
with the passenger side one plugged in everything
works fine but with the driver side one plugged in
all I have is high beams they won't dim at all and
high beam indicator stays lit. Any suggestions or a
solution would be greatly appreciated.

When you plug in the old one does everything work the way it should, if yes then it sounds that maybe the light assembly is defective....
Everything works fine with the old one plugged in so I guess the light is defective, that's the answer I was afraid of. I went with these because they were really the first ones I came across plus they were pretty lol. I really didn't want to replace the headlights at all but I didn't know that the little latch that holds the headlight in was broken and one morning going home from work the whole thing blue or of the front of my car and bounced down the highway while I was going about 65mph. Does anyone know what this is called and where I can get a replacement so that doesn't happen again.
