Why does the ac smell bad

Simply replace the climate control air filters for the evaporator and blower unit.

I have been trying to find how to replace the climate control air filter. However, all I can find is how to repair the cabin air filter.

My Hyundai smells like stale water, I have flushes the windscreen water out with a hosepipe, still can’t get rid off the smell, it only happens when we have hot weather.
