2013, my electric running boards have stopped working, how can I turn them back on?

I would check to make shure the fuse isnt blown. If your fuse checks out ok, I would then check the door switch that activates them.
If you fuses are okay, you might need to reset they actuation system: Here is how you Initializing Articulating Running Boards: To activate and unlock the articulating running boards for normal operation, perform the following procedures: Open all front and rear doors. Set the parking brake. Find the running board disable switch located on the center console below the HVAC climate control system. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position, with the engine off, and toggle the disable switch three times within 20 seconds to activate the power running boards. Close all doors. Open the left front or left rear door and the running board on the left side should articulate out. Close the left front or left rear door and the running board should articulate in. Open right front or right rear door and the running board on the right should articulate out. Close the right front or right rear door and the running board should articulate in. The articulating running boards will now operate when opening either the front or rear doors on that side of the vehicle. A power retract operation of the running boards will occur with the closing of both doors on that side of the vehicle. Hope this helps!!!!

treasa57, As your vehicle is a 2013 model, you're well within warranty (provided you haven't put more than 36,000 miles on the vehicle). If you're unable to resolve this, the dealership should be able to help you out! Sarah (Assisting Marlea) GM Customer Care

2011 Denali passenger side running board comes out making a loud noise sounding like a seal. After I close the door it goes up making a loud seal noise and it keeps making that noise until it goes all the way up
Dclar00, my 2012 Tahoe is doing the same thing, I think its the motor but I'm not to sure. It's only the passenger side as well.
Live up here in the Midwest. Home of brine, salt, and snow. My power running boards refuse to operate properly when it gets cold (and everything associated with road melt products). I read to troubleshoot. To disconnect one motor, see if other goes up. Then try with other motor. It said if both fail to go up change module under and near driver side running board. For sh*ts and giggles I power washed the arms on the running boards then applied lots of lubricant to all pivot points....they both now work. 2008 GMC Yukon Denali xl
Did you find an answer to the problem? My passenger side does the same thing. I have heavily lubricated it and can get to go up and down, but not without a great deal of assistance.
