Why won't the back hatch door latch not work. Won't latch in place

Already sprayed liquid wrench inside it. Still won't latch. Is there something better to use? When I lift the handle nothing happens.

Really...that's all you've got? How do I get inside the latch to see if something is loose or needs to be replaced?
