Belt buckle jammed with coat string

Question type: General

My husband accidentally buckled a coat pocket string into
the belt buckle and now it's jammed. In the attemps to free
the buckle the belt was pulled and is also now locked up.
Will we have to remove the entire seat and open up the
buckle to remove the jam? Or is there a simpler resolution?
I'm thinking we wont be able to get the seat far out enough
anyway because the belt is locked up.

That end of the buckle is either bolted to the floor or the seat frame. Removing it isn't going to get you any closer to getting the string out or the buckle apart. I would leave it in place and just muscle that buckle apart. Eat a bowl of Wheaties and have at it.
