Misfire had speed

Worked on a 97 Dakota that would missfire and sometimes shut off. What we found was that the wireing going in to the distributor at the pig tail the pins were backing out. We pushed the pins back in and set them with some silacone and let dry over night. That was in 2007 and it has'nt missfired since. Hope this Help's
