Software update question
Asked by EMarieS Jan 08, 2019 at 09:43 AM about the 2013 Honda CR-V EX-L FWD
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
My CRV was shuddering at about 25 mph. I took it to the dealer and they
said it needed a software update. I replaced the transmission fluid about
20,000 miles ago. They said they had to replace the fluid again using the
same fluid because you can't do a software update without draining the
transmission fluid. Are they being honest with me? I just picked the car up
today but the car does seem to be driving better. Thanks for your help!

I’m having the same problem. Were you able to get an answer? If so could you email me with that answer at baheglar@gmail.com.
I bought 2019 domestic japan CRV and want it's language setting changed to English. Also Sri Lanka GPS info installed instead Japan.
Well I had the same problem and just had my transmission flushed less than 2 months ago and like with you they say they want to drain it all to do this software update for $399. If it's a software problem, seems like that's a manufacturer issue. I don't understand why I have to pay for something that's a defect.

I have this problem and Honda couldn't find it. I took it to an independent mechanic and he diagnosed the problem above. He couldn't check if the software update had been applieda Does only Honda have access to software update history? Honda invoice included "Owners inquiry shows no outstanding recalls and/or product updates on this vehicle. PUDS owners inquiry shows none." What does this mean in simple English? Would the software update for this problem have been installed?
