After the basics you may need to work out the 6 circuits in the carb. Which one causes rich or lean in your circumstances? which one adds power after you have accellerated, and does it have a general vacuum leak? are some plugs not firing? sounds like major tuneup testing should be gone thru. check for cheapo crapola and get your motorcraft parts back in there if the carb is good? and good compression ? fuel pressure? volume? service codes? intake gaskets? holley toilet? you may have to break down and tell us what engine and carb.? Duraspark? or some mods after 30 plus years.?
