Most hydraulic lifter engines do not need adjustments, but if you must adjust remove valve cover one at a te
Toolosse is correct, hydraulic lifter,s do not need adjusting,if you here a lifter tap,you have a weak lifter, and adjustment will not do you any good.
One at a time, install anti squirts on all rockers except the one your adjusting, back off locking nut till slight click is audible then slowly turn down( clockwise) till noise quitens do it slowly! While engine idles, do not exceed 1/2 - turn or 180 degrees. This only applys to adjustable type hydraulic lifter engines!!!!!!! It's called 0 degrees clearance. Get a professional to perform this , you can create more problems than you fix if you do this project wrong. Hopes this answers the question you asked . Tooloose said that.
Collapsed lifters usually click due to excessive push rod to lifter clearance
