94 Dodge Dakota turn key nothing, lights on bottom of dash, turn key maybe after 5 times she will start. Has a new starter, The shop says it has to be that way in order to figure out problem.

get another shop , test the batt. and make sure the terminals are clean and tight , along with any other electrical connections , that means the ones your "mechanic " did , see if the stater is getting power when you hit the key ,
