92 Dakota won't start

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I've got a 92 Dakota, 5.2L v8. Parked it for 2 weeks
and it won't start. Cranks with lots of power. Finally
got it sputtering to life and drove it 10 miles and
shut it off. Started it again and backed up 5 feet
and it died. Now the same deal. Cranks and cranks
but won't fire? Any ideas on where to start?

I have the same truck and similar issue. It wasnt parked but a day and a half cause it's my commuter. I backed it up to my garage, about 10 ft, and it started up beautifully as usual. 10ish minutes later went to start up and.....no fire. Just crank. Started with checking the fuel pump, making sure it was engaging, we were a go. Then added some liquid heet thinking maybe it just got to cold and some ice got stuck up somewhere in my lines. Still no start. Then went on to check all my relays even swapping a couple to double check, and nothing. Thinking I must not be getting a spark to the ignition coil, I replaced it. Still no fire and a whole lot of crank. I called it a night and my next task will be checking everything with the distributor. Comment an update if you figure it out cause I'm struggling lol
I replaced the TPS, distributor cap and rotor, plugs and ignition coil to no avail. Finally a fuel pump relay got it starting regularly but it is not running right. Idles ok but misfires anytime I try to drive and backfires when under load. Hoping I just got a some wires switched or something. Any other simple things to check?
