my 1986 camaro,shakes and tries to stall,if I put it in neutral,I can stop it from stalling sometimes

Could be several things. How long since your last tune up? (Plugs, plug wires, dist cap, rotor button, air filter, fuel filter, ect). Could also be idle air control valve dirty or faulty. Could be vacuum leak. Could be stopped up cat convertor.
