Problems idling

Asked by Jahdiel Feb 07, 2016 at 11:46 PM about the 1986 Ford F-150 STD Standard Cab LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I'm having problems when I turn my truck
on and put it in reverse or on drive, the
engine shuts down. I'm thinking it may be
the weather, 45°-60°F or,  I may need to
adjust the idle but I'm not sure if it can
mess up the truck. Any thoughts?

Does it make a difference on weather or always same issue, does it do it after engne is warmed up. But something easy to do is check for vacuum leaks first

Okay I'll check for vacuum leaks. One thing I did do I tightened the screw that is hooked up to the line that gives it gas. And since I fixed it there hasn't been that problem. However if one does come up I'll post it again.
