why should a brand new car have to turn off the a/c unit during trip thru mountains?

Asked by bogiedad Aug 09, 2014 at 01:49 PM about the 2014 Ford Escape SE FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

during recent trip from Phoenix to Las Vegas, the car I was in a 2014 escape 1.6 ecoboost, a light came on instructing  the driver to turn off a/c . the temp outside was about 110 . the car is about 4 months old. the road was hilly but not severe hills. is this common?

1 Answer

That only has to do with 'Eco" or economy, for FULL potential economy it means turn off A/.C and suffer. Sweat it out for the benefit of Mother Earth. Go ahead and use the A/C and enjoy your drive in comfort
