I have a 2001 crown vic interceptor. Keep getting misfires on #4 and #7 plugs even after changing the boots, coils and plugs. Then wiggled the #4 & #7 and it ran like a new car for bout 6 miles.

It's like you make and break connection, that means the wires, connectors, or the component or sometimes its mounting are loose or loose fitting. that's an intermittant open rather than a short. When you get those components into certain light ? sometimes the part can be cracked or damaged. especially from previous overheat. I had one a while back where that caused intermittant misfire.
