Yes, doors are the same from 98 to '11, but around 2003 the interior side of the door is designed differently - different mounting points for door panel, a large horizontal strip for regulator, etc. You would not be able to remount your old door panel on the newer door. You could swap over interior panel as well, AFAIK dashes are the same between those two years so where door panel meets dash should also be the same, however the steering column also changed in 03, what, if any, impact that had on the door panel I couldn't say - you'd have to hold them side-by-side and compare. You would also have to consider how to keep your current armrest switch module or swap over new one, they won't be compatible between 01 and 06. The LCM and door ajar switches changed some between those years. It would be a major pain swapping out regulator, so you'd want to keep the donor one, and check if harness can work. You might find it easier to stick with an 03-06 door. You can find more specific info on crownvic.net.
