If your PI has throttle by wire it uses a 4W75E. If it has mechanical linkage for throttle it uses a 4W75W any year with 4.6 Modular. I just can't remember what year they went to drive by wire.
Just looked it up and the PI went to DBW in 2005, so you can use any 4W75E 2005 -2011 ..assuming you have the 4.6. In 2011 the CV PI was discontinued and the new PI's are Mustangs and Taurus, with 5.0. I know, seems odd to put a small block in a cop car but the 302 is IMO one of, if not the best engine Ford ever built, it's bullet-proof ..no pun intended about cops
I was wrong. Sort of. http://www.ford.com/fordpoliceinterceptor/models/#/sedan/ says different but I have been up close and personal with a CHP Mustang 5.0. No, not arrested. One of my careers for 4 years was haz-mat cleanup and have cleaned up many a freeway of spilled loads and it doesn't have to be very dangerous to be considered hazardous. The CHP was of course there in a Mustang with the 5.0 360 hp Coyote motor
